What To Expect

The Denver Dancer's Fund is a ONE TIME competition that is designed to award prize monies to the participants, but also establish a fund to help both recreational and professional dancers with healthcare needs.

Unlike other competitions, the premise is that you will learn and perform the variation on the spot (much like a professional dancer would have to do if they had to go in for someone the day of a performance).

In order to provide equity and fairness the variation for each level will not be announced until the Study Session that morning; however variations will not exceed 2 minutes.

The schedule for the day will be as follows:

WARM UP CLASS - to get you warmed up for the day

(feel free to have on all your "garbage" and don't force anything as this is your chance to get your body ready for the day)

LEARNING SESSION - a time to learn a short variation's steps and musicality

REVIEW SESSION - a time for participants to go over the variation on their own

SHOWCASE - a chance to perform the variation on the beautiful Schomp Theatre stage in front of an audience and a panel of judges.  (Don't worry about a costume, your favorite leo is great!)

If needed we will have a final round to determine winners.

PLEASE NOTE:  The Showcase performances are open to the public and are FREE!  We encourage parents and teacher alike to join us to celebrate the incredible talent on display during each showcase!

Please plan to join us from 7am-5pm (specific times will be determined once we know how many participants we are accommodating!) on April 20, 2019.

Thank you to the Colorado Dance Community for your support of this Event!
